Well, we'll only be gone a few months and things usually slow down in the summer anyway, so I don't think it will be hard to pick up again in the fall.

Isn't it wonderful the opportunities God brings into our lives - opportunities for our growth and encouragement as well as encouragement and growth for others - the key is the willingness to be open to the opportunities. I know that He will use you, although maybe in different ways than your previous time there, but God will use your gifts for His glory.

How fun! It sounds like a wonderful outreach for you--and TO you. ;>

(I've heard that one-to-two is much less challenging than none-to-one...and that even numbers of children are easiest. I'm hoping to find out firsthand one day! Just thought I'd throw in a little encouragement.)

What about an imaginary dinner party? You could each invite x number of people from history to dinner. Then, you could explain why you chose those people.

I think movies and tv are great choices, too.

I just got an interesting book by Donald Davis about storytelling called "Telling Your Own Stories". There might be interesting things in there to get people talking and sharing.

Look how clean your snow is! What fun.

Lexi had a cotton lining that we'd put under her hats when it got really cold. It left only her eyes exposed. We got ours in Lapland, but they did have them in some stores that carried REIMA brand.

-20C is when the hairs inside your nose freeze, so good call on cancelling the walk. Our school never closed. the kids could have the choice of inside recess if it got below -25C. Russian school closed but we. never. did.

In the last few months we've been exposed to lots of different people. And, some of the people we're exposed to aren't really...nice. There is a grandmother at the dance class before ours that shouts and berates. Lexi is a little afraid of her. She now asks, as soon as someone new approaches and you can see her uncertainty (perhaps it's an overworked employee or someone just more gruff than we usually encounter) as she turns and immediately ask, "Is she nice?" I think it's honing that "wild voice".

I like the comment about being slow to include and quick to exclude.
